Creating Collaborative Community Art

I began my creative journey as a child, involved in my parents' community-arts theatre company, Turnaround Arts. This early experience taught me the power of using recycled materials and colour to tell impactful stories.

My background in theatre design, working with giant puppets and masks, has shaped my approach to public art, focusing on creating engaging and interactive experiences. Moving away from the traditional theatre scene, I now focus on public art projects that encourage community interaction and environmental awareness.

My art involves parades and public performances that connect with a wide audience, breaking cultural barriers and building community bonds. I am committed to making art accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Below are photos of some of my international projects.

Through collaborations with Theatr Clwyd, The Fostering Network and youth support centres, I have empowered struggling youths, teens, and young carers since 2013 by using art, theatre, and shadow puppet workshops to build confidence, explore identity, and enhance mental health.

Community Arts Upbringing

Growing up in a creative environment carved by my parents, I learned to collaborate effectively with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. My experiences have sharpened my ability to listen, understand diverse needs, and integrate these insights into my art, ensuring it resonates with community values and aspirations.

Inspired by the memorable experiences my parents crafted in the 90s, I am driven to broaden my artistic impact in public art. Grounded in community arts, I focus on collaboration and accessibility, aiming to create public art that unites and uplifts communities.

Below is a collection of photos from my childhood and projects from my parents' community arts touring theatre company, Turnaround Arts.
