Community Engagement
My creative journey began in my childhood, immersed in the rich tradition of community arts through my parents' touring community-arts theatre company, Turnaround Arts. This foundational experience instilled in me the transformative power of repurposing materials to convey compelling socio-political narratives and an instinctive use of colour.
My background in theatre design, working with giant puppets, masks, and crafts workshops, has shaped my approach to public art, honing my skills in creating captivating and interactive experiences. Seeking growth beyond the exclusive and hierarchical nature of the theatre field, I shifted my focus towards developing projects that emphasise public interaction, theatrical play, and environmental consciousness.
My work incorporates elements such as parades, processions, and interventions within public spaces, creating art that resonates with diverse audiences. By transcending cultural boundaries and fostering a sense of unity and shared understanding, my art nurtures connections among people. My dedication to accessibility and inclusivity further strengthens my commitment to creating art for individuals of all abilities, backgrounds, and ages.

Through collaborations with Theatr Clwyd, The Fostering Network and youth support centres, I have empowered struggling youths, teens, and young carers since 2013 by using art, theatre, and shadow puppet workshops to build confidence, explore identity, and enhance mental health.
Community Arts Upbringing
Growing up surrounded by my parents' incredible creativity, I learned the importance of working closely with diverse groups of people, including children, adults, and individuals from different cultural backgrounds. Through my work, I have honed my ability to listen to others' perspectives, understand their needs, and incorporate their ideas into my artistic vision. These skills have been essential in creating artwork that truly reflects the community's values and aspirations.
Inspired by the magic my parents created in the 90s, I seek to expand my creative horizons and continue making a powerful impact in the world of public art. With a strong foundation in community arts, a keen interest in collaboration, and a commitment to accessibility, I am poised to create inspiring and heart-warming public art that brings people together.
