LYCRA FABRIC DESIGN

I recently fulfilled a dream of mine by designing a fabric pattern for swimwear. I have a passion for colourful, abstract shapes, and it's often hard to find designs that truly resonate with me. So, I decided to design the fabric myself. Since I can sew, I went ahead and made my own swimming costume and bikini.

COTTON CRAFT FABRIC

Designing these four repeat patterns for cotton was incredibly enjoyable because it allowed me to create a variety of items such as pillows, table runners, and even a top from the cotton samples.

Sewing feels similar to my paper-cut collage design process, where I play with paper sewing patterns to assemble a larger piece.

Turning my pattern designs into clothes I can wear feels like wearing art in everyday life, bringing joy to the spaces I visit.

textile DESIGN

I enjoyed creating mockup designs for various clothing garments using some of my favourite fabric patterns from Merchant and Mills and Made My Wardrobe, imagining how my artwork could look on them.
