Making Wooden Sculptures
In 2024 I began creating bespoke wall sculptures inspired by my paper‑cut collage process. Using layered wooden shapes to echo collage textures, I collaborated with local carpenter-artist Nina Hunter to craft joyful, curious pieces that add dynamic depth to any space.
I’ve loved working with wood and have begun making digital prints on birch ply, where the grain glows under vivid colour. Shown here is a piece co-designed with fine artist Theo Passingham for the EQ Building canteen in Bristol, inspired by the exterior mural and the building’s architecture.
I’ve been creating 3D wooden artworks from acrylic‑painted cutouts, co‑crafted with carpenter Nina Hunter, an enjoyable exploration of form, colour and flow.
The process of creating these artworks is incredibly satisfying, and it often leaves the studio looking fabulous. Below are some photos from the installation, building, and design stages of these magical creations.
